From the minute she was born, I knew she would touch my soul. She had a glow about her, the only surviving girl in the litter. In all my years of breeding, she was my "IT" girl, and in my eyes, she was perfection. As she grew, she exceeded my expectations, she was stunning, and such an easy dog to have. Everyone who met her, thought she was stunning. At a time when "Aussie people" hated "those minis" she was turning heads another direction. And making believers out of some pretty tough critics. Her one fault, she was a soft hearted girl, and would rather be a home body, on the couch, than out in the show ring, yet she pushed through, and had 8pts under her belt, needing only her majors to finish. We decided to take a break from showing, as she was due to come in season, so she came home, had a full DNA panel done, all clear, Eye Cerf, Clear, and OFA Prelims Hips Good, Elbows/Patellas Normal. She was bred to our AKC CH MoonBaby's Radioactive- "Nuke" and delivered a stunning all color litter of 6 puppies (4 girls, 2 boys) on Valentines Day 2017. I was tickled pink with excitement! The pregnancy was smooth, and delivery uneventful, which made me even happier. The puppies grew and thrived, and continued to amaze us with their quality. At 6wks they all went to the Veterinary Opthalmologist for their initial Eye Cerf exam. The entire litter passed with Clear Eye Cerfs, no notations. The entire litter evaluated show quality. Again, our hearts were so full of joy, with these beautiful additions to our program, and were making plans to send Denim back out to finish her AKC CH title. She never did lose coat upon weaning the litter, she looked so lovely. On April 11th 2017, I put Denim up on the grooming table to start to recondition her coat for reentering the show ring. At that time, I noticed a distended abdomen. It had a "doughy" feel to it, which I knew was not good. I immediately called the vet, and got her in the next morning. Bloodwork showed liver failure, which also affected her kidneys. We immediately started aggressive treatment, and I brought her home on IV's over the Easter weekend. Upon waking up to check on her at 4am Easter Sunday, my beloved girl was gone. Post Partum liver failure. I had even spoken to my vet on that Saturday night, with plans to be more aggressive on Monday. The vet felt she would pull out of it. But her sweet soul had another mission. I cannot wait to see her again. I miss her EVERY day, I am forever changed. There is not a day that goes by that she is not in my thoughts. Life is so unfair. Such a beautiful girl, in the prime of her life, to be torn away from us. To honor her, I have made it my goal to finish the AKC CH titles for all 6 of her pups. So far, 2 are finished, 3 are major pointed, and one, in France, will fly back to the USA to show in the spring of 2018. Rest in peace my beloved girl. The hole in my heart can never be filled. Her offspring....
